Scartho Goes Ukulele Mad!

Who knew that the Ukulele was such a popular instrument? When we persuaded Zak Whitehead to offer classes at the Library, we expected a relatively muted response - how wrong we were.

There seems to be a lot of people out there who already own ukuleles (but, perhaps don't know how to play them) and also a lot of people who want to learn more before investing in an instrument.

Quickly, the classes on Monday and Wednesday became oversubscribed and, after building up an extensive 'waiting list', we have had to ask Zak to run a third class on a Friday morning. We have also managed to rustle up a number of ukuleles to loan to 'ukelele-free' learners.

With three classes on the go, we may now have satisfied the demand, but only time will tell and, perhaps in the not too distant future, Scartho could have its very own Ukulele Orchestra.
