NELC Lease the Library Building to Foresight for 125 Years

The Grimsby Telegraph reported, on November 24th 2016:

'FORESIGHT, the current lease holders of the former Scartho Library building in St Giles' Avenue, have been granted a new long-term lease of 125 years by Cabinet - at £1 a year.

The extended lease will enable the group, who were successful in the procurement process which led to the acquisition of the building as a community library and establishing a volunteer led library service, to seek funding to enhance and extend the subject building.'

The transfer of the building will enable Foresight to implement a range of improvements, probably starting with a more efficient heating system and new window frames.

As proposals for improvements materialize, we will report them here - so keep checking back.

This development certainly bodes well for the future of the Library and the services that it can offer the community.
